A Magical Twin Gender Reveal Baby Shower: Butterflies, Blooms & Beautiful Surprises!
There are few things in life as special as welcoming a new baby into the world except maybe welcoming two! Hosting a baby shower to celebrate twins is already a joy in itself, but when it also includes a gender reveal for friends and family, the excitement truly doubles. The mum to be, didn’t want an elaborate surprise, so the decor was the reveal, which is simply a fab way to do it.
Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of designing a gender reveal baby shower for twins, a dreamy event filled with faux florals, floating butterflies, and whimsical touches that made the day unforgettable. From the tablescape to the 6-foot hoop centerpiece, every detail was carefully curated to celebrate these two new lives in a soft, elegant, and joyful way.

The Vision: Soft, Whimsical, and Full of Wonder …
When planning the baby shower, I wanted to strike the perfect balance between elegant and playful, something that honored the parents’ joy and also felt like a daydream come to life. Since we were revealing the genders of two babies, we didn’t want to go with the usual “blue or pink” theme alone. Instead, we leaned into butterflies, florals, and soft pastel tones, creating an ethereal garden feel with pops of surprise.
Think:
Faux floral installations that draped and danced
Delicate butterflies "flying" across the arch and hoop
Personalised signage
A tablescape that made guests pause and smile
Everything was intentionally designed to create a moment and memories for years to come.
The Welcome Board: First Impressions Matter…
Guests were greeted with a custom welcome board at the entrance that set the tone for the entire event. It featured different pinks, calligraphy, and we attached macaroon accents that immediately gave a sense of lightness and wonder to match the theme. “Sugar & spice & all things twice.”
Placing it right at the front ensured that guests immediately felt part of something special and it made for a perfect photo opportunity!
The 6-Foot Hoop: A Stunning Focal Point …
One of the biggest (literally!) pieces at the event was a 6-foot white hoop, which acted as the centerpiece backdrop for the reveal moment.
We adorned the hoop with:
Cascading faux florals in white, blush, and ivory.
Butterflies in varying shades.
Flowing ribbons and gauze fabric for movement
This hoop wasn’t just a backdrop, it was a showstopper. It framed the baby shower beautifully and guests used it as the backdrop for picture opportunities.
The Tablescape: Garden Party Glam …
The tablescape was one of my favorite parts of the event. I wanted it to feel like an intimate garden party, we decorated the main spread table & the table’s outside where the guests would eat.
We used:
Soft pastel linens in soft pink
Faux floral vases with poppies, hydrangeas, and roses
Scattered flowers placed on the tables.
Small glass butterfly place card holders
Candles in varying heights & shades added warmth and glow, especially as the afternoon light began to fade.
Faux Florals: Beauty Without the Allergies …
One of the biggest design elements was our use of high-quality faux florals throughout the event. These allowed us to build larger, more dramatic installations without the worry of wilting or pollen, especially helpful since we had a few allergy-prone guests!
The arch and hoop were both adorned with:
Cream and blush roses
Soft cream peonies & poppies
Touches of greenery to add dimension
Using faux flowers also meant we could prep well in advance and repurpose some pieces afterward — a big win for sustainability and budget.
The Butterfly Decor: Symbolic and Stunning …
Perhaps the most symbolic decor piece was the butterflies we added into the arch & hoop, as well as attached them to the garden trees.
Butterflies represent transformation, beauty, and new life all themes that felt deeply appropriate for a twin baby shower.
The butterflies appeared to be in mid-flight, thanks to clear thread and clever placement, creating a sense of magic in motion.
Freestanding Floral Arrangements: A Blooming Statement …
One of the most commented-on features of the event was our stunning freestanding floral arrangements, tall, sculptural pieces that added both structure and softness to the space.
These weren’t your average centerpieces. Each freestanding floral was:
Built on a stable base to stand independently
Overflowing with different hydrangea colours at the base of the display, & clear large florals at the top.
We placed it at the key area around the garden so it stood with its own wow factor, but not far from the 6-foot hoop, flowing butterflies and beside the tablescape, to create photo-worthy moments from every angle. These floral towers added dimension, guided the guest flow, and gave the entire event a cohesive, luxurious garden feel.
Best of all, they were entirely reusable and allergy-friendly, which made them both practical and beautiful.
Sweet Treat Favours …
The sweet favours were as sweet as the day. We purchased delicious sweets to go into a custom made bag with stickers, thanking guests for joining the celebration. We also designed and set up mini boards to follow the theme, sugar and spice & all things twice, as well as matching the welcome board design & placed them around the table and sweetie table.
It was the perfect treat to send guests home with.
Final Thoughts: A Day to Remember …
Hosting this gender reveal baby shower for twins was truly a labor of love. From the fluttering butterflies to the floating florals and every thoughtful touch in between, the event was more than just a party; it was a celebration of life, family, and the beauty of new beginnings.
